You can see the evidence of its rich colonial past in the grandeur and scale of the architecture. Following the tram line from Plaza Nueva down to where you can see the towers of the Plaza de Espana is a good way to stretch your legs but not lose a pretty easy route.

There are two museums at the far end of the Maria Luisa park gardens, that have free entry for EU citizens and then a stroll back up the river side to the Golden Tower and the area close to the Cathedral.

When you are tired you can always feed the tram ticket machine with 1 euro. We travelled in by train from Malaga but were glad we got off at San Bernardo, where you can catch the tram to Archivo de las Indias, where our hotel was, yards from the Cathedral.

Hotel Simon was a huge bargain, provided your life is not ruled by a certain breakfast or wanting TV more than site seeing! Eating was easy as there are hundreds of places competing with each other with special deals.

We found the half plate portion too generous so opted for tapas on our second visit and were very happy with this venue.

Good vibe with numerous sidewalk cafes. Enjoyable Flamenco show - if you can understand Spanish. Gran Melia Colon- fabulous hotel. Hotel Casa excellent too.

I recommend you this hotel. The cathedral and palace were the high points. The bullfighting arena which has room for 12, spectators is well worth a visit for architectural reasons.

It is a good idea to go to the Information Centre to find out when places are open as I went to two famous churches, only to find that they were closed!

There are so many restaurants and tapas bars that travellers can walk round the city and take their pick. The hotel Inglaterra is well placed in the old town and from there it is relatively easy to walk to the most important sites.

Don't forget the wonderful temperatures which were up to 25C in early December. Had a great long weekend in the Nervion area of Sevilla.

Despite it being the end of November, the weather was sunny and warm, and the city people were friendly and very welcoming.

We had a great first day on the Saturday - with a tapas bar meal for late lunchtime and an Italian restaurant meal in the evening. We enjoyed a good Sunday evening watching the Sevilla v Valencia football match, with our hotel - Hotel Ayre - just a leisurely 5 minute walk from the ground.

Then spent the Monday in the city centre, with an enjoyable river cruise trip and a walk around the other attractions such as the Alcazar Place, the Golden Tower, and more Genuinely, a great place The staff did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible despite tha fact that during our stay they had been notified that all hotels in Sevilla would have to close due to Covid 19 a few days after our stay.

Service was impeccable. The room suite 19 was spacious, very comfortable bed, shower, coffee and spotless.

The central location of the hotel is another plus. Idem: the roof terrace with stunning view over cathedral, etc. What an amazingly beautiful hotel!

It consists of 24 different houses, joined together in 1 hotel with over 40 little courtyards. You can literally get lost in this gorgeous maze of beauty.

It is unlike any hotel I have been to before, beautifully restored with the unique character kept in tact. The rooms are very spacious as is the bathroom.

You have to experience this! The apartment is lovely and extremely comfortable. It was close to everything but still far enough from the crowds.

Plenty of restaurants around serving breakfast. Shops, cafes and supermarket all within walking distance also. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel was clean and good for family in a nice community of the city. The staff at front office, especially Cristina was nice and took care of all the queries we had on the city.

Dry patient lady. The location is very close to the center. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room is very clear and comfortable.

The WiFi is very good too. Incredible location, across the road from the Cathedral. Nice, comfortable and clean, absolutely brilliant. Amazing location , not expensive.
